Referral Sources
MRC serves individuals with physical, sensory or mental health disabilities or other barriers to employment (immigrants and refugees and people with limited income or transitioning from public assistance to self-sufficiency). Normally, either individual fees are attached to each service or the service is part of a grant and costs for those services are covered by grant funds.
MRC offers services in the following areas:
MRC Evaluation Services began in 1960 as the original service offered to individuals with disabilities at MRC. Evaluation services have expanded and changed since then, but continue to focus on consumer assessments to determine employment potentials.
MRC Employment Planning Services were initiated in 2007 to help individuals with disabilities plan for future employment and is an important step in the rehabilitaiton and career planning process.
MRC Training and Education Services In 2006 MRC redesigned its accredited training courses, which began in 1985, into a tiered learning format, “Tiers to Careers,” which assesses the consumer’s technical and interpersonal skills growth during a step-by-step training process.
MRC course curriculum is continually revised by MRC staff and members of the business community to ensure that the training courses fit the current needs of the workplace. MRC maintains relationships with over 70 business partners who contribute to MRC’s success by presenting training and work readiness sessions (including mock interviews) and by hiring MRC graduates.
MRC Employment Services has placed consumers with disaiblities or other barriers to employment into entry-level to professional-level employment since 1973.
MRC Employment Retention and Disability Services began with Certified Extended Employment Services in 1987 and added a full range of post placement job support services in 1991 that include job coaching and worksite support, job site analysis, Staying On the Job case management services and ADA and Disability training.

- MRC is accredited as a special purpose school through North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and is licensed by the State of Minnesota and offers your client accredited training and education classes which focus on small class sizes and extensive one-to-one interaction with instructors.
- MRC offers your client services that will assist them achieve self-sufficiency and focuses on a holistic service model, meaning we work with both the professional and interpersonal growth of each individual served.
- MRC works closely with the business community to develop its training courses to ensure they fit the needs of the changing Minnesota workplace and has over 70 business partners who assist with developing curriculum, offering work readiness training courses and assisting your clients with securing competitive employment with career advancement potential.

- Your client will receive individualized services by a highly skilled and effectively trained staff.
- You will receive a progress report monthly and at the completion of the services.
- Your client will receive continuing education units for courses completed that may be converted to credits at some other state post secondary schools or that will help them to pass out of some courses if they do go onto further education.
- Your client will be followed by an MRC staff person for an extended period of time to ensure the job is a good fit and to assist them with any job retention issues that may come up.
- Your client will gain the exact skills needed in the current work place because MRC Business Partners assist with the development of training curriculum.
